Airport concessions to support civil aviation were granted to ANA Aeroportos de Portugal in 1998, along with those of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Horta, Vila did Porto, Ponta Delgada, and Beja. Future infrastructure planning, development, and construction were also granted to ANA as part of this concession.

About Flores, Portugal

The municipality of Santa Cruz das Flores is located in the northern portion of Flores Island in the Portuguese Azores archipelago. In 2021, 2,020 people were living in this area of the Western Group, which encompasses an area of about 71 square kilometers and borders the southern municipality of Lajes das Flores.

Santa Cruz das Flores, a small town in the north, was mentioned in documents as early as 1548.
